Hi, I’m penny the face behind Gabymoo Sunflowers.

I have always loved painting and creating, and for many years used my art as an outlet to find a little moment of calm in a busy world.

Just over a year ago, I was going through a bit of a rough patch and I painted myself a sunflower canvas and hung it on my living room wall.

Every time I looked at it, it gave me joy and brought a little bit of light into my life. It gave me a little idea to create pieces that would bring that same light and joy to others.

So I set up Gabymoo Sunflowers, experimenting with different ways to paint sunflowers and finding different things to paint them on.

Mostly, I paint on glass and ceramic using multi surface acrylic paints. They are cured in the oven which gives a durable finish and unlike glass paints, they lend themselves to the fine detail painting that I enjoy.

As well as glass items, I love to scour vintage and second hand shops to find items that can be bought back to life and reimagined with some sunflower love. I have painted elephants, cats, giraffes to name but a few, but I think my favourite item so far, has to be a pair of shoes!

I offer personalisation on nearly all my items so you can add a name, date or short message to make a truly unique and personal piece. I have also created several memorial pieces over the last year, helping people to connect with their memories of their loved ones and I always feel so honoured to be trusted to create something so special and meaningful.
